TEST PREPARATION
How to Prepare for Your Test in Gujranwala
Most of what changes a result is what happens before the needle, not after it. Here is exactly what to do for each of our tests, so your report reflects you on a normal day, not a rushed one.
CBC (Complete Blood Count)
No fasting needed
Eat and drink normally, book any time of day.
Liver Function Test (LFT)
8 to 12 hours fasting recommended
A morning slot works best. Can be run non-fasting if your doctor needs it urgently.
Kidney Function Test (RFT)
No fasting needed on its own
Follow the fasting rule for whichever other test it is paired with.
HbA1c
No fasting needed
Take it any time of day, eaten or not.
Lipid Profile
9 to 12 hours fasting required
Plain water only during the fast. Tea, coffee with milk, juice and food will skew the result.
Dengue Test (NS1, IgG, IgM)
No fasting needed
Note the day your fever started, since that decides which marker is most useful.
