Ultrasound Scans at City Care Lab

Ultrasound runs alongside digital X-ray at City Care Lab, so a scan does not mean a separate trip to a radiology-only clinic.

What We Scan

Abdominal, pelvic, obstetric and general soft-tissue ultrasound, with a radiologist reviewing every scan before the report goes out.

Types of Ultrasound We Offer

Abdominal Ultrasound

Checks the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, pancreas and spleen, commonly ordered for unexplained abdominal pain, gallstones or a fatty liver work-up.

Pelvic Ultrasound

Looks at the bladder, uterus and ovaries, often used for menstrual irregularities, urinary symptoms or a gynaecological check.

Obstetric (Pregnancy) Ultrasound

Tracks fetal growth and due dates through pregnancy, from an early dating scan to later growth and position checks.

Soft-Tissue Ultrasound

Examines lumps, swellings and muscle or joint concerns, giving your doctor a clearer look than a physical exam alone.

Preparing for Your Scan

Preparation depends on what is being scanned. For a pelvic ultrasound, you will usually need a full bladder, so drink water beforehand and avoid urinating until the scan is done, unless our staff tells you otherwise. For an abdominal scan, we may ask you to fast for a few hours so gas does not interfere with the image. We will confirm exactly what you need when you book.

Why Choose City Care Lab for Your Ultrasound

City Care Lab is registered with the Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC #R-64327). Every ultrasound is reviewed by a radiologist before your report goes out, and reports are typically ready the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a full bladder for every ultrasound?

Only for a pelvic ultrasound. For an abdominal scan we may ask you to fast instead, and we'll confirm exactly what you need when you book.

Can I get an X-ray at the same visit?

Yes. Digital X-ray is also available, so both can often be done in one trip. We will arrange it when you book.

Who reviews my ultrasound scan?

A radiologist reviews every scan before your report goes out.

How soon do I get my ultrasound report?

Typically the same day as your scan.

Do I need a doctor's request for an ultrasound?

Not strictly required, but bring one if you have it so we scan exactly what was ordered.
